P 33

1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
Jim Glickenhaus has revealed he is preparing to build a successor to the wonderful Ferrari P4/5 and P4/5 Competizione Pininfarina one-offs.
It will be called the P33, and you had better pay attention... Tantalisingly, Jim hasn't actually revealed much other than very exciting plans for a low-weight, one-off special.
Speaking to Internet and Ferrari enthusiasts on Ferrarichat.com, the Big Man revealed that his creation will break cover at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Jim tells us the new car's design will be a hat-tip to the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale - that's the gorgeous thing pictured above - but "will be a totally forward-looking design". He says: "P 33's raison d'être is to bring lightness and simplicity back to sports cars."
This is Excellent News. It'll sit on a carbon fibre chassis - smaller than the P4/5 and potentially the same one as the new Alfa 4C - with a Ferrari built twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing over 450bhp. His goal is to hit a target weight of 725kg. Interestingly, Glickenhaus says the P 33 will incorporate a sliding cockpit like the one Pininfarina used on the 1970 Ferrari Modulo concept. It's strictly a road car, but there is a possibility it could be raced, in the vein of the Competizione Jim's team - Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus - campaigned at the Nürburgring. Dark Horse: P4/5 Competizione at the track KERS won't feature on the P 33, but it might come with a Formula One style ‘Drag Reduction System'. SCG will design, engineer and build the P 33 in Turin as a one-off, but Jim is considering a very limited production run.
