The Fiat 500 was awarded 2011 "Gear of the Year" in the Dec/Jan edition of Men's Jounal.
Like the Mini before it, the Fiat 500 refutes the ingrained American perception that small cars are emblems of an impoverished existence. Quite the opposite, in fact. The Fiat isn't the fastest or the cheapest car in this competitive set, but it offers something you can't get from any other tiny car: Italian Style. The 500 is like a four-wheel version of Cappellini - high design attainable by the masses.
